This doesn't seem to be about the Dashboard View Plugin.

Also, please provide details about your configuration. OS, installation method, output of the /systemInfo URL, last version of Jenkins that was known to work, etc.

I've updated the issue with the requested details however I don't know when it started happening. The generated image seem to contain the garbled text so a guess would be that that's where the problem lies, which component is responsible for generating images?

I wonder whether your OS's font config is just messed up. We use JFreechart for graphs and that in turn (AFAIUI) uses Java AWT for fonts. The graphs are broken without fonts installed, perhaps your default font or something is this symbol mess?

I've tried installing extra font packages as well as switching to the full OpenJDK without any success. I can see plenty of installed fonts with "fc-list" and "fc-match" returns: DejaVuSans.ttf: "DejaVu Sans" "Book" which gives me the impression that would be used as a default font.

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this issue... Does the problem still exist?
