Need to view Performance Plugin test results in BlueOcean UI

      See JENKINS-43892 for original posting

I am a heavy user of the Performance Plugin https://wiki.jenkins.io/display/JENKINS/Performance+Plugin

Right now, the Performance Plugin creates a new link for each job such as:

T|https://jenkinshost/job/jobName/performance/]here are screenshots of what the Performance Plugin produces here: https://wiki.jenkins.io/display/JENKINS/Performance+Plugin?focusedCommentId=135470852#comment-135470852

At this link there are graphs and tables listed which display the performance results.

Is it possible to view the test results of the Performance Plugin in the BlueOcean UI?

      This would be extremely useful.

hey rodrigc interesting. That is worthy of a fresh ticket. Perhaps you could team up with imeredith who was looking at ways to add data driven extension points so that other plugins could add links to the performance report pages. Would it be enough that the results screen (somewhere...) has links to /performance to start with? (ie no new screens, just links?)

michaelneale I'm not sure the best direction to go in on this.

From my perspective as a user, I am happy if the existing Performance Plugin test results are provided in BlueOcean with just links, i.e. no new screens.

Right now I have to toggle out of BlueOcean to see the Performance Plugin test results.

However, longer term, you may want to provide interfaces or guidelines for plugin authors who are producing customized test results to integrate with BlueOcean, so that their test results are visible directly in the BlueOcean UI, not just links.

Whichever path you decide to go down, I recommend keeping undera (Performance Plugin maintainer) in the loop on the direction you are going in.

I think initially having links to existing is a great start - don't you imeredith

If there are data driven charting things that can be used to make a new UI for it (similar to trends) then that could be a follow on I think

We could special case this for now. I'm working on a plan for extensibility currently but still not 100% sure how we will deal with things like this.

imeredith is there is some way plugins can publish links in the results screen, that could do nicely for this and a bunch of others.
