jenkins jobs are failing with the above exception after sometime completing the execution. 

Please provide a full list of installed plugin.

EnvironmentVarSetter is fine in 1.6.9, the only reason of such issue would be a binary conflict with another plugin

We are currently using 1.6.9 version of Build setter plugin and we can still see this issue happening . Our Jenkins core version is CloudBees Jenkins Enterprise 2.107.34.0.1-fixed and I have attached plugins and version associated with it on this comment plugins.xml

This is an issue in another plugin: https://github.com/jenkinsci/quayio-trigger-plugin . A separate issue needs to be raised for it to the plugin maintainers

JSONObject is explicitly blacklisted from serialization tho, so the fix mileage may vary
