Other "cloud" providers like the Azure VM Agents and OpenStack Cloud plugins make their agent/VM provisioning statistics available in the Cloud Statistics report (via the cloud-statistics plugin). It would be convenient to have the vSphere Cloud plugin do the same, for a consolidated report across all clouds in use within our Jenkins system.

I'd be happy to look into a PR although am not set up to build the plugin, and lacking instructions at https://github.com/medianick/vsphere-cloud-plugin am not sure how to get started (I have the JDK and Maven and can clone the repo but beyond that am stuck). The generic instructions at https://wiki.jenkins.io/display/JENKINS/Plugin+tutorial are not enough help. Would you be able to give me some direction there?

added a comment - The repo to fork from (and submit PRs to) is .../jenkinsci/vsphere-cloud-plugin
- "mvn install" will build it.
- "mvn hpi:run" will run a local Jenkins with just that plugin.
I don't have any magic documentation myself (it is a bit of a "learning curve"), but I've found the two commands above fairly useful.
Also, if you make a PR, the jenkinsci infrastructure should auto-build it for you, and you can download the .hpi file from it if you wish.

I agree, it would be nice (It'd be nice if the docker plugin did so too!).
