Extra character in output when running inside a container

      It seems the fix done in JENKINS-50392 doesn't fix all related problems, so I'm filing this as a follow-up.

      In some cases, there is an extra 'e' being inserted at the beginning of outputs (before JENKINS-50392, it used to be a 'p').
