The issue was misreported to a wrong component in JIRA, it has been never triaged.

Is it about the Windows installer?

          hi oleg_nenashev

I am not sure about the linux version binaries, however, if we talk about Windows Installer then yes. Windows installer is integrated Oracle JDK, whereas oracle java free update is ending in Jan-19. Would that be possible if Jenkins Windows installer got any other OpenJDK integrated rather than oracle.

Our enterprise is moving on Azulu Java, however if you could use any other OpenJDK that is also fine.

As a part of the JENKINS-52868 discussions in Platform SIG, it was decided that we want to exclude Java from the Windows installer at all. slide_o_mix has a prototype for that AFAIK.

The prototype is here https://github.com/slide/packaging/tree/master/msi. I don't have a binary package available anywhere, but I could attach one for testing.

          Hi @slide_o_mix ,

Sure, please let me know when and where I could get the windows binary package. Thanks

The new Windows installer that requires a Java Runtime to be pre-installed is currently shipping.
