Our users reports that their jobs are not displaying the commit information into Build page (please see screenshots), they consider that was a really useful behavior in previous Jenkins versions.

Command line git versions prior to 1.7.10 are not supported with the git plugin. CentOS 6 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 default to provide a command line git version that is not supported by the Jenkins git plugin.

Command line git versions older than 1.9 do not include all the options necessary for full support in the Jenkins git plugin. CentOS 7 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 default to provide a command line git version older than 1.9. Some operations of the git plugin will be different or unsupported on those older git versions.
