Currently, the "Updates" tab of the plugin manager does not have any indication like "Installing this update will address a currently active security warning".

It's really annoying to see the warning, go to the plugin manager, and be presented with 30 updates, when all you want to do is apply security updates. Need to switch back and forth between looking at the list of updates, and the security warning popup, to figure out what needs updating.
