    • Jenkins 2.237 Red Hat rpm repository

Jason Pyeron noted that that the Red Hat rpm repository definition has some inconsistencies. Fixing those inconsistencies will make the packages better for Red Hat, CentOS, Fedora, Amazon Linux, Oracle Linux, and other administrators of systems that install from that rpm repositories.

Hi. How could I help with this one?

The repo is https://github.com/jenkinsci/packaging for most of the code

Some of it is in https://github.com/jenkins-infra/release

Note: our current main branch is INFRA-910-core-release-automation, submit changes against that, we plan to merge it to master in 1-2 weeks.

I've heard a couple of issues from people, the repo isn't gpg signed, and init d scripts are used instead of systemd.

Closing this issue because the work is happening in https://github.com/jenkinsci/packaging and issues are being tracked in https://github.com/jenkinsci/packaging/issues

Significant progress was made when the installer transitioned from System V init to systemd. Work is currently in progress to make further improvements in PR 409 - https://github.com/jenkinsci/packaging/pull/409
