After updating Jenkins from 2.263.3 LTS to 2.277.3 LTS. I am unable to save global configuration system page, it is unresponsive. As a work around mentioned in the upgrade document I have updated all the plugins. But there are two plugins which are showing unavailable (attached image) ( ssh build agent and ssh credentials plugin) I need both these plugins to make ssh connection to my linux slave. I can’t delete those plugins. So my question: These plugins causing any issue to save global configuration system page?

Is there any work around to make configuration page to save without uninstalling those plugins?? (See attachment)

It is impossible to triage it without more details and reproduction steps.

nithink you did not provide the data that is requested in the https://www.jenkins.io/participate/report-issue/ page when you updated the issue.

That page requests a precise list of installed plugins and Jenkins version as generated by a specific script

I assume from your description of the bug that your steps to duplicate the bug are:

          1. Install Jenkins 2.277.3 with an unspecified list of plugins having an unspecified list of versions
          2. Open "Manage Jenkins" and "Configure System"
          3. Pres "Save"

You mentioned two plugins that are not upgraded. The text of the page that shows those plugins explains that they cannot be upgraded because those plugin versions require a Jenkins version that is newer than the version you are running. That is not a problem. Provide the list list of plugins and their versions as described in that page and someone may be able to help you.

          Hi Mark,

I have updated the data requested.

I am on the Jenkins latest version 2.277.3 LTS.

My question is why I am unable to save the system configuration page, it is not responding at all.

I assuming  it is causing by the plugins? (see attachment)  *If not why I am unable to save the manage jenkins-> configure system page?*

As part of the Jenkins 2.277.1 changelog and upgrade guide, the following steps are recommended:

          • Remove unused plugins from your installation
          • Remove deprecated plugins from your installation (like the findbugs plugin, the DRY plugin, the checkstyle plugin, the Visual Studio Team plugin, etc.)
          • Remove plugins with security vulnerabilities from your installation (like the gitlab-hooks plugin)
          • Update your plugins to the latest releases (this assures that the latest authentication plugins are installed before the Jenkins version upgrade)
          • Upgrade your Jenkins version
          • Upgrade your plugins to the latest releases (get the latest plugin releases for the new Jenkins installation)

If that set of steps does not resolve the issue, then consult the list of plugins with known tables to divs issues. Uninstall any of those plugins or volunteer to adopt those plugins and provide the necessary fixes for them.

I won't have time to experiment with your list of plugins very soon. You may be able to find the solution yourself by applying those steps.

Thank you, disabling Job Direct Mail plugin done the trick, now I am able to save the configuration page.

The job direct email plugin has been suspended from distribution because it breaks global configuration save.
