I have 2 options, an empty string "" and "-SNAPSHOT". I can make the empty string the default, but not the "-SNAPSHOT" because then the empty string gets stripped from the list of possible options.

The easy fix is to not strip the choice. But it would be better if each choice had a corresponding GUI element instead of being lines of text.
