Does site monitor issue requests from agent its running on or via jenkins server?

      Our jenkins agents can reach the intended endpoint URL, but the jenkins controller cannot. Yet, when the site IS available, the jobs report back as failed.

      I'm wondering if the request is routed thru the jenkins controller

          The request is done by the Jenkins controller. There is no code execution in any way in this plugin that is done remotely on an agent.
