Based on the single phrase in the issue summary, I assume that you chose to use the "Advanced" tab, downloaded the git plugin, then tried to upload it to a Jenkins controller.
The "Advanced" tab does not perform dependency resolution. It assumes you have already resolved all the dependencies needed for the plugin you are uploading.
Use the "Available" page instead of the "Advanced" page. It will resolve dependencies. When you ask to install the git plugin, it will detect the dependencies and include them if you do not already have them installed.
