Test LDAP Settings doesn't yield a user visible response

      Steps

      1. Go to /manage/configureSecurity/
      2. Click Test LDAP settings
      3. Enter invalid credentials
      4. Press Test

          Can you try with plugin 2.12. At least this give me a message "ERROR", but then this seems to be JENKINS-68748 that is still the underlying problem.

          getting the same behavior on plugin version 2.12, Jenkins v 2.375.1 but different log message:

          Error while serving http://server/manage/descriptorByName/hudson.security.LDAPSecurityRealm/validate java.lang.NullPointerException at hudson.security.LDAPSecurityRealm$DescriptorImpl.validate(LDAPSecurityRealm.java:1594) at hudson.security.LDAPSecurityRealm$DescriptorImpl.doValidate(LDAPSecurityRealm.java:1549) at java.base/java.lang.invoke.MethodHandle.invokeWithArguments(MethodHandle.java:710) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Function$MethodFunction.invoke(Function.java:397) Caused: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
