On the manage Jenkins page the Icon before the "Manage Plugins" has a nice badge that displays the number of available plugin updates.

It would be nice when other management links are also able to display such a badge with a free text. While they can already now implement the method getUpdateCount this would still use the texts from the plugin manager for the tooltips and it is limited to show only numbers.

Places where this would be useful 

• manage Old data can show number of entries,
• computer/cloud link could show number of offline agents
• In script approval can show number of pending approvals
• Agent maintenance plugin can show number of active / total maintenance windows

Ideally this can be combined with some kind of severity, to make the background appear in  orange or red.
