InputStep plug-in not working without specifying an id

As the summary suggests I am using the plug-in to validate when a prod release is made. Since I started using the plug-in, I stated it like this:

But since I upgraded the plug-in to the latest version, I'm getting this error message:

From what I've seen in the documentation it should not be required to specify an ID for the input. But only when I manually specify it, it works.

I want to know if I will have to update all of my pipelines with trivial id's or if this is a bug worth mentioning.

camilo_ruiz , This error seems to be present in both 466.v6d0a_5df34f81 and 456.vd8a_957db_5b_e9 versions.  This is not the case with 451.vf1a_a_4f405289, so as a workaround you can rollback to this version to resolve the error.  Note that it does contain some security risk.
