Postbuild task plugin loses setting after job update

XMLWordPrintable

*Title:* Post-Build Task Settings Missing After Jenkins Update

      *Description:*

We recently updated Jenkins from version 2.3 to version 2.440.1. We utilize the Jenkins Python API to update existing jobs. However, after performing these updates, the post-build task settings are being cleared.

      *Details:*

      • *Issue Summary:
          - *Jenkins Version:* Updated from 2.3 to 2.440.1
          - *Tool:* Jenkins Python API
          - *Problem:* After updating existing jobs using the Jenkins Python API, the post-build task settings are found to be blank. New job creations load the settings correctly, but updates to existing jobs result in the deletion of the post-build task settings.

      *Steps to Reproduce:*
      1. Update Jenkins from version 2.3 to 2.440.1.
      2. Use the Jenkins Python API to update an existing job.
      3. Observe that the post-build task settings are missing or blank after the update.

      *Expected Behavior:*

      • Post-build task settings should remain intact after updating existing jobs, similar to the behavior when creating new jobs.

      *Additional Information:*

      • The issue appears to be specific to job updates and does not affect the creation of new jobs.

Please advise on potential solutions or workarounds to prevent the loss of post-build task settings during job updates.

      Thank you for your assistance.
