NotSerializableException in GET Request for xml file inside jenkins pipeline

      Running a get httpRequest for https://myurl/file.xml file inside a Jenkins pipeline is breaking with the following exception:
      java.io.NotSerializableException: groovy.util.slurpersupport.NodeChild
      Can't process the response because it breaks internally.
