      Do we need a mechanism to do this?

          We need an extension point in the matrix configuration to show custom axis
          configuration UI.

          Underneath we can still map to the same thing — a variable with possible
          values — and the build wrapper can pick up the value assignment and do the
          right thing.

          If you could give it a shot, that would be great. I'm swamped with work and
          getting the maven integration into the cobertura plugin

          Note:

          • I have not been able to test the VMware plugin when Hudson is running on a
            Linux machine (i.e. the VIX api bindings against libvix.so) in theory they
            should work... just haven't had anybody to test it yet.
