Low priority but we could sort this one out quickly

I'd argue the weather icons are difficult to "distinguish" at any size. i.e. they don't really mean much to me - they are encoded with information that I interpret in a binary fashion - reliably passing - somewhat broken in the past

On the front page I have icons as below. I have no idea what they mean apart from the sun probably meaning the build is ok and has been for a while. Also - in classic - the icons are hoverable with build status information - in BlueOcean they have no additional feedback.

          Icons

What is the sorted order? Sunny, clouds, clouds with rain, clouds with lightning? Is that good for usability / discoverability?

          Hover information

Have I derailed this ticket sufficiently now?

bwalding what you are talking about for the hovers etc should be a different ticket IMO.

I hate the weather icons. I would like to have a clean pure green dot for successful build, yellow for warning, and red for error. This is like MacOS' traffic light.

Say it again, I hate the weather icons!

Those already exist. Not just dots/circles, for the simple reason that there's such a thing as color blindness, but close. See e.g. https://ci.jenkins.io/blue/organizations/jenkins/Core%2Fjenkins/activity
