Unable to fetch Private repository in GitHub

    • apache-tomcat-7.0.75,jenkins-2.49 and tried on later versions also,windows (7,8.1,10,server 2012 R2),jdk-8u121-windows-x64,google chrome and edge browser,The error is same in both deployment in tomcat and also running the jar file from command line

      today I am getting error with private repositories while building the job.WIth public it is successful.

      I am getting the below error.

          THe above is the console output of the job where the fetching of repo is failing from private repo of github..

           I am new to this product, so I didn't understand what you are asking exactly.

          I will explain you what I have done till now.

           

          1. Installed java 8 and Jenkins (tried with Tomcat and also through command line (java -jar jenkinswarfile)).And Git application.
          2. Installed GitHub plugin
          3. Created a freestyle job with a public repository along with the jenkins credentials for github.It is building.
          4. Created a similar job for private repository and the github fetching is failing.
          5. I am able to clone same repo from git application but not through jenkins.

          When you asked for system log, I went to the jenkins configure section and selected "All logs" in the sytem logs and shared the content to you along with the command line output of the job.

           

          I don't know about timeline you are asking for.

          Your console output looks different from mine, like you're not using credentials or something, but I learned that when using a personal access key, you need to include the username. Without it, the organization scan goes fine, but the fetch fails.

          Looks like you didn't configure gitscm with keys for accessing your private repo. I see nothing related to github plugin.
