      To enable a consistent experience across SCM providers in Blue Ocean, part of JENKINS-43148 was to require SSH and disallow other Git protocols; adding this as a separate task to isolate the changes.

          It's possible to save using https with username/password, too. I've verified this using github + my personal access token, I don't think it's a good idea at this point to restrict to SSH only, so holding off for now.

          jamesdumay whatever you say goes here, but a note: I've added some logic to limit the editing to SSH only repos, while not removing the current functionality and still allowing non-SSH repos to build; if you still want to proceed with this, we can quite easily wipe out support for non-SSH stuff.
