When the release is finished, it should be possible to send an e-mail

      We have developers who release their project, but the build administrators would like to know when those releases are made.
      So it would be great if one could have the same e-mail configuration as in the normal job, to notify by e-mail that the release has finished.
      Ideally, it would also inform about the build status.

          A while back I looked at trying to change the "build step" concept into something more general - a la the promotion plugin. I didn't get very far but I think if this were to happen, it would address your issue as well.
