• 2.396

We recently upgraded from 2.361 to 2.390 and our (non-super-)admins were no longer able to add new nodes via the web interface. They don’t see the New Node button, even though they have the right to add agents as per permission matrix.

As Super-admin, with complete rights, I see the New Node button (as do other "super-admins").

Using the “deep Link” on the UI, others are able to add new nodes. It seems that just the UI button is broken.

(We also tried to roll back the Matrix Authorization Plugin; without success.)

We believe the crucial changes were made here: https://github.com/jenkinsci/jenkins/pull/7352

      Screen-1 is for non-super-admins

      Screen-2 is for super-admins

Screen-3 shows the permission sets (and finally explains what a super-admin and a non-super-admin is )

Screen-4 shows the workaround in action.

Rejected for LTS 2.387.2 due to timing, should be fixed in next LTS release.

Since this issue is now closed, will it receive an update when it actually is released? (Currently still projected for 2.396, I suppose.) Or will the Released-As field simply become "effectively true",
